Y6Â - The American dream
Year 6 have been planning a holiday to the USA. Everyone had a different state of America and children had to plan a tour including where they was going to fly from, which airport they will fly into to, where they was going to stay and what they was going to visit.
This is a full on tour of one state of America.
Google Earth
plan it, view itÂ
Children used Google Earth to plan a virtual tour. This allowed them to not only plan and fly to each destination, but to also see it in glorious 3D and even down to street level with Google street view .
We mixed digital technology , shared information and ideas using Jamboard and worked like true tour planners. We used Google Docs to share a worksheet and Google Sheets to produce a graph of populationÂ

Population & Data
Population
Children researched population of their chosen state on the internet and produced graphs showing growth or decline from 1900 to 2020.
Children was surprised how few people lived in some states when records begin in 1790 and how quickly the population grew after 1900.
Graphs were seamlessly linked from Google Sheets into Google Docs. A great example on how to collect, analyse, evaluate and present data and information.
