WELCOME

Welcome to Aldwyn Primary School "The Learning Zone". This is a sister site to the schools main website that can be found by clicking HERE.  Please take time to have a look around.  Childrens work can be found on "OUR WORK" and  TEACH COMPUTING and you can find out more about our aims on "OUR MISSION" page.

We have some "quick" links at the top of the page and if you want to know anything about the way we are working with children in respect to the way we teach computing do not hesitate to contact us.

OUR AIMS

In the modern world, having strong computing skills has become increasingly important, and children are no exception. By being introduced to technology at an early age, children can develop valuable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Additionally, having a solid foundation in computing can provide them with many career opportunities later in life. Therefore, it is crucial for parents and educators to prioritise giving children access to the necessary training and resources needed to develop their computing skills.

Web-Design
Designing a website brings together a whole host different skills. e-commerce lets children plan and design an online shop and work just like a new start-up business.

Multimedia
Children have access to professional online graphics and video editing software that really brings out their creative skills, skills that can be used across the curriculum.

Computer / Networking
From Year 4  children start to learn about networks, digital devices and how computers communicate. We look how sub-system are formed and how they work together.

Coding
Coding boosts problem-solving skills and  coders are constantly challenged. We start simple coding at Year 1 and children use several different coding platforms.
